Delivering Reliable Information Directly to Patients
Because scientific articles are difficult for patients to understand and online sources go largely unreviewed, the committee sees its mission as delivering scientifically accurate information directly to patients through accessible, multiple format materials.
Growing the Committee’s Reach: Translation and New Formats
Plans for the next year include posters and interactive multimedia content, Spanish translations of informed consent and brochures for members outside the United States, and the newly launched Patient Outreach Survey capturing what patients actually want to know.
Ways Members Can Help Build These Resources
Members can submit original patient photographs, diagnostic images, and videos through a Dropbox based image library, give feedback on the informed consent documents, pre-order brochures, and suggest new topics like a planned lymphedema and venous ulcer brochure.
