This September 2021 DVT Issue surveys the fast growing toolkit for acute pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, comparing catheter directed thrombolysis systems such as EKOS and BASHIR with mechanical thrombectomy devices including Indigo and ClotTriever. Contributors weigh device selection against clinical context, including when the ClotTriever system is limited by prior stents or poor inflow. The issue also introduces a new AVF member poll on stenting practices and reports on AVF's advocacy response to proposed Medicare reimbursement cuts.
