AVF Digital Media Committee: Social Media and AVF Exchange
A New Committee for Digital Engagement
The Digital Media Committee, new this year at the AVF, promotes discussion and education around venous disease care while keeping members informed of upcoming events, grants, travel scholarships, and abstract deadlines relevant to academic careers and daily practice.
Weekly Social Media: Vein Monday and Journal Watch Wednesday
The committee plans to tweet a clinical case every Monday under the hashtag Vein Monday, inviting members to guess or share their own cases, and highlight recent venous research every Wednesday under Journal Watch Wednesday, with more platforms planned later.
Website Updates and Free Patient Consent Forms
The committee has been revamping the AVF website with new content, including free downloadable informed consent documents for members, sparing them from handwriting procedure risks for each different venous procedure every time.
The AVF Exchange Platform and Getting Involved
The AVF Exchange, hosted by Doc Matter and reachable from the AVF website, lets members post and answer clinical questions. New members can engage online immediately or volunteer formally through the annual committee call before the meeting.
