Trial Updates: Iliac Stenting, Thrombectomy and Stent Data
C-TRACK: Randomizing Iliac Vein Stenting
The NIH funded C-TRACK trial randomizes post-thrombotic syndrome patients with iliac obstruction to stenting or medical therapy alone, seeking the first high quality evidence on stent benefit after years of only anecdotal and observational support for the procedure.
First-in-Man Vein Thrombectomy Catheter
A novel cage and screw thrombectomy catheter achieved lysis grade two or better without thrombolytic in 17 of 19 acute DVT patients, with no device related adverse events and sustained improvement in Villalta and venous clinical severity scores through 12 months.
Vici Stent: Three-Year Outcomes
Three year data on 200 patients found primary patency of 96.4 percent in nonthrombotic disease versus 64.1 percent in chronic post-thrombotic occlusions, with an 11 stent fracture rate of 3.3 percent that caused no measurable difference in clinical outcomes.
Abre Stent: Twelve-Month Real-World Data
The Abre trial in 200 real world patients met safety and patency performance goals with 88 percent primary patency, no stent fractures or migrations despite extending many stents below the groin, and sustained improvement in quality of life at 12 months.
