Journal and International Updates

The JVSVL reported rebounding submissions after a dip from its move to open access, an
improved site score, and record downloads for the venous leg ulcer and lymphedema
guidelines. The International Committee introduced the AVF Academy digital education
platform and an International Research Club, and reported that AVF membership passed
1,000 for the first time, with 21% international members.

Society Collaboration

SVS leadership described branding, advocacy, and verification program initiatives aimed
at demonstrating vascular specialists’ value, while AVLS reported a financial
reorganization and proposed aligning its 500,000-patient registry with AVF-funded research
to strengthen joint guidelines and advocacy.

Awards and Presidential Address

The session included presidential citations for guideline authors and committee
leaders, plus Founders Award presentations recognizing career contributions to venous and
lymphatic disease. Incoming president Joe Raffetto closed with a presidential address built
around a theme of unity, describing leadership, mentorship, and collaboration as the
framework for the Society’s continued growth.
